Clinical Associate Prof. Anna Tong Khim Leng is a Senior Consultant cardiologist at the Department of Cardiology in Changi General Hospital. She is the current echo director and leads the cardiac screening program of Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). She was ex-HOD of the department of Cardiology at CGH from 2012 to 2019 and the ex-Director of the intensive Coronary Care Unit. She obtained her MBBS degree from the National University of Singapore in 1992, and completed 2 years of fellowship training 2001 – 2003 at the University of Virginia, USA, with focus in contrast echocardiography. She was a finalist in the Young Investigator Awards at the Samuel A Levine YIA, AHA and at the American Society of Echocardiography 2004 for her work in contrast echocardiography. In 2009, she completed her second HMDP in sports cardiology at the Institute of Science and Sports Medicine in Italy, under the Italian National Olympic Committee. She is a member of various national committees and taskforces, and works closely with Singapore Sports Medicine Center at CGH.

As a pioneering sports cardiologist in Singapore, she is a member of various national committees and taskforces, including the National Safety Committee on Sports, National Physical Activity Guideline and SAF cardiology board, and was a Visiting Consultant to SAF Medical Corps. She is active in both undergraduate and postgraduate teachings with Yong Loo Lin Medical School, Duke-NUS medical school, LKC medical school and the Singhealth Residency program. She is also a recipient of several grants for research in areas of sports cardiology including NMRC small grant on athlete’s heart and LQTS in athletes. She has published in peer reviewed journals locally and internationally, and presented her findings locally and internationally.
